Our History in Northern Belize

From a hand cranked ferry in 2012, while driving down Freedomstar Rd, we heard of this unique property.

We listened to stories about early settlers who once lived and thrived there, but the jungle had reclaimed it decades ago. Walking the property we tried to understand the scope of what we were taking on.

‘2018 Drone Footage’

Committing ourselves to the project and working with a small crew of locals - using machetes, rakes, and bic lighters, it would take us six years of slow and careful clean-up to uncover and preserve the original footprint - which we’d learn dated back to the 1700’s when Capt James Lowry built the first European settlement in Northern Belize, evidenced by ruins. But our hopes were realized, resulting in one of the most magnificent pieces of property along the entire 27 mile Northern Ecological Corridor.

Electricity came our way in the latter part of 2018

..so we subdivided the southern 13 Acres into 20 lots - ranging from .3 to .78 Acres

We continued working tirelessly on grooming and maintaining the property and after ten years Freedom Star Estates flourished, becoming a lush landscape of unparalleled beauty.

The obvious potential of Northern Belize – once narrow dirt roads and hand cranked ferries

..lead the drive to expand

..to pave

..and to replace those hand cranked ferries with modern day bridges.

The highly anticipated “Northern Ecological Corridor”, adjacent to our property, opening the north of Belize, significantly reduces travel time to Corozal where restaurants and markets abound, and Chetumal MX, with an Int’l Airport and excellent medical facilities, turning what used to be an hours-long journey into a matter of minutes.
